It’s Real: Conversations with Your Child About Mental Health, featuring Compass Health
May 27 | 6–8:30 p.m.
2.5 Hours Training Credit
Join us for a unique training for Parents and Youth in Middle and High School for a conversation about mental health. It’s Real is a program, facilitated by mental health education specialists from Compass Health, designed to provide mental health education to teenagers aged 11 and up. In this program, attendees will learn what mental health is, the signs that someone is struggling, how to talk to others about mental health, and what to do if you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health. After the presentation, youth will be excused and there will be a small discussion with the parents about mental health and children, and the importance of safety planning.
PLEASE NOTE: This presentation briefly touches on suicide and what a child can do to get help. If anyone needs assistance before or after the presentation, please call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
