The Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition is thrilled to welcome Jeff Dyson-Perkins to our team as Chief Impact Officer. In this role, Jeff will introduce an integrated approach to the Coalition’s community impact efforts through relationship-building and collaboration with agency partners. Additionally, Jeff will provide inspirational leadership to develop and implement efforts to advance the agency’s goals and communicate its impact to stakeholders.
Jeff has a deep personal connection to the Coalition. Jeff and his husband Keith felt a strong calling towards fostering and reached out to the Coalition to begin their journey towards licensure. Driven by their desire to provide a safe and nurturing space for a child to heal, they opened their home and hearts – ultimately adopting their daughter Avery.
“Joining the Coalition team feels like a full circle moment,” Jeff says. “From the very beginning of our adoption journey, the Coalition was there for our family in every way. I am excited by this opportunity to bring my skills to the Coalition and answer my calling of serving and uplifting the foster care community.”
In addition to his personal ties to the Coalition’s mission, Jeff brings more than 18 years of leadership experience to the team, including experience at Arizona-based nonprofit CARF International, The Boeing Company, and most recently, Starbucks Coffee Company. Jeff earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-St. Louis/Washington University in St. Louis Joint Engineering Program, and holds multiple certifications in organizational leadership and business process improvements.
Jeff’s passion for community involvement runs deep, supporting over 15 nonprofit organizations in various ways over the past three years. He most recently served as an organizer for a Starbucks ALL.IN. back-to-school event that supported University City Schools. With the support of 23 community partner organizations, the event generated $100k in in-kind donations and positively impacted the lives of more than 8,000 students and families in the community.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff to the Coalition team, though he has been part of our Coalition family for many years!” says Melanie Scheetz, Executive Director. “We know his leadership and personal connection to the mission will be an asset to our agency as we scale to serve 100% of children entering foster care by 2029. Welcome, Jeff!”
