SAVE THE DATE FOR THE NEXT TRAINING EXTRAVAGANZA: SATURDAY, JUNE 8TH
Thanks to a grant from the Children’s Division and the Area Resources Community and Human Services (ARCHS), the Coalition will host a Training Extravaganza on Saturday, June 8th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Receive 7.5 in-service training hours in one day at this all-day workshop for foster/adoptive/relative caregivers.
EXTRAVAGANZA AGENDA: “Listening to the Stories of Our Children”
The Coalition is pleased to welcome Darla L. Henry, PhD, MSW, MARS, to the St. Louis area. Darla is a social worker, trainer and teacher with extensive knowledge and experience in the field of child welfare. Darla’s mission is to build a path toward healing and well-being for children, youth and families in the child welfare system. She established the 3-5-7 Model© - a state of the art, evidence-informed practice that supports the work of children, youth and families in grieving their losses and rebuilding their relationships towards the goals of well-being, safety and permanency. Darla will be sharing her newly released resource parent training with our St. Louis parents!
CHILDCARE LOTTERY: Space is limited to 100 children. Registration forms must be received by May 24th to be included in the childcare lottery. ALL requests for childcare received by May 24th will be placed into the same lottery pool. Registration forms will be randomly drawn until the 100 childcare slots are filled. If childcare is full, adults are still welcome to attend the workshops and receive 7.5 training hours. Space is limited to 200 adults.
Confirmation will be mailed to you. All parents will be notified via email or mail whether or not their child(ren) were selected in the childcare lottery on May 24th. The notification letter will include lottery acceptance, instructions for the day, and directions to the facility. Remember, whether or not your children are accepted, we usually ALWAYS have room for adults. If you and your children are chosen and are UNABLE to make it, please call and let staff know, otherwise, a no show will negatively impact your acceptance at future events.
